WHAT HELPS STRENGTHEN OUR ĪMĀN?
- LEARNING KNOWLEDGE : تعلم العلم
The path of faith cannot be tread with ignorance. The journey to Faith begins and continues with the light of Knowledge-
- Knowledge about Allāh, The Exalted, His Tawḥīd, His Attributes, His Words and His Actions in the created world
- Knowledge of this beautiful Dīn of Islām
- Knowledge of the lives of the Messengers and the righteous
Knowledge is the breath of life to a dying heart; knowledge is the light that illumines the darkness of ignorance; knowledge guides the seeker to the path and encourages him/her to continue on it; knowledge inspires a heart to change, a change that is reflected in beautiful speech and action.
وَالرَّاسِخُونَ فِي الْعِلْمِ يَقُولُونَ آمَنَّا بِهِ كُلٌّ مِّنْ عِندِ رَبِّنَا
Sūrah Ā’le ‘Īmrān (3), Āyah 7: And those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say: “We believe in the Book; the whole of it is from our Lord:
وَلِيَعْلَمَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَيُؤْمِنُوا بِهِ فَتُخْبِتَ لَهُ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَهَادِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
Sūrah al Ḥajj (22), Āyah 54: And that those on whom knowledge has been bestowed may learn that the (Qur’ān) is the Truth from thy Lord, and that they may believe therein, and their hearts may be made humbly (open) to it: for verily Allāh is the Guide of those who believe, to the Straight Way.
